An English professor has decided to live a year like famous rock star David Bowie.
An English university professor named Will Brooker decided to spend a year as David Bowie to learn more about the famous rock star's life.
Kingston University teacher, for 365 days he will adopt the same eating habits, read the same books and visit the same places as the singer. "The idea is to live in Bowie's head to better understand his work while maintaining a critical and objective perspective," he explained.
To truly live like Bowie the professor also underwent sleep deprivation, he only listened to the music and movies that Bowie said he saw or heard. "The levels of cocaine the singer consumed are illegal and too expensive," joked Brooker, who simulated the experience by drinking a box of energy drinks in a single weekend.
Brooker realizes the limitations of the experiment "his mansion in Beckenham has been demolished and it is unlikely that I will have an affair with Mick Jagger".
