A Ukrainian modified his old Opel to run on wood instead of petrol
One of the main consequences of the tension between Russia and Ukraine is that of the reduction in gas and oil supplies which could cause a surge in the price of fuel in Ukraine in the coming months.
Many people have therefore decided to take shelter looking for the strangest ways to save energy. One of them is Eugene Chernigov who has modified his car to travel with wood.
Man, speaking of mathematics and physics, has exploited a technology that is not new but dates back to the beginning of the last century, then abandoned because it was not efficient. Chernigov fixed a wood stove and a metal container behind his old Opel, thus connecting them with the car's engine.
The gas emitted from combustion is stored in the metal container, filtered, cooled and fed into the engine. About 40 kg of wood are needed to cover 100 km. The car is capable of going up to 90 km / h. In times of crisis, wits are sharpened!
