In high school they invent a spray that smells bad, market it and get rich
Certain diabolical ideas can be truly brilliant. For Andrew Masters and Alan Whitman, luck came during high school, when they wanted to take revenge on a professor they just couldn't stand.
Alan, received as a gift a kit from the little chemist, tried to recreate the most annoying smell possible, something that looked a bit like poop, sewer and some notes of dead animal. They found a perfect mix but the invention remained in the drawer for several years.
Some time later the two colleagues, just before they were fired from the company where they worked, poured some spray near the microwave in the lunch room. The effect was incredible and the two decided to repeat the joke periodically, driving the company crazy to find the problem in the pipes.
Once fired, the two decided to invest in this product, despite protests from family members. Eventually the facts proved them right: the product had a boom in orders, making them rich in a few years.
