Scientific research shows that it is possible to quit smoking while sleeping.
At first glance it may seem like one of those many advertisements that offer unlikely solutions to quit smoking, in reality it is a scientific research that has tested the effectiveness of olfactory conditioning in sleep, with the aim of quitting smoking.
66 volunteers were involved in the research, all willing to get rid of this vice. Each of them had to keep a diary of the cigarettes he smoked in the week before and after the experiment.
The experiment consisted in associating the smell of cigarettes with unpleasant odors, such as that of rotten fish. This was done by having each one wear a special mask while they slept.
It was found that subjects subjected to a single night of olfactory conditioning significantly decreased the number of cigarettes smoked, reaching as much as 40% especially if the association occurred in phase 2 of sleep. So what are you waiting for? Now you have one more solution to quit!
