The strange story of a man who lost 150 kg by walking to the grocery store every day.
It may seem counterintuitive but this is exactly what happened to a 31-year-old American man, who managed to lose 150 kg in excess by walking to the supermarket.
Pasquale "Pat" Brocco lives in Arizona and weighed almost 275 kg. But when doctors told him he was seriously risking his life from high blood pressure and cholesterol, he decided to go all out for a change.
The man knew that exercise was important but he couldn't go to the gym weighing 275 kg, as he couldn't even get into the machines. So he made a choice: whenever he was hungry, he would walk to buy food at the supermarket, a journey of about 3 kilometers round trip.
"It's incredible because I had never walked so much in my life and now I did it every day", Brocco recalls. His new habit, accompanied by a suitable diet, allowed him to lose 150 kg in two years, so much so that he had to undergo surgery to remove excess skin.
