Rental prices in San Francisco are insane, so here's a guy's solution
Rental prices in big cities can be a real problem for those who don't earn enough, so there are those who decide to invent original and cheap ways of living.
This is the case of Peter Berkowitz, 25, a graphic designer from San Francisco who decided to live in a closet to save on the cost of renting in the famous US city. His "room" in the closet is just 2.5 meters wide, 1.2 meters high and one meter deep. All for just $ 400 a month!
Peter had originally planned to share a two-bedroom apartment with a friend, but he realized that the cost of a two-bedroom apartment was not equally sustainable. He then rented a one-room apartment and built his own closet-house, sharing the studio with another tenant.
Peter's wardrobe is equipped with various comforts including a double bed, folding table and led lights. "Yes, living in a closet is a bit absurd. But nonsense is endemic in San Francisco’s crazy rental prices," he told reporters.
