For Liang Zifu and Li Suying, a Chinese couple, going to live in a real house after marriage would have been too expensive. So the two decided to go and live inside a cave in a mountain near Nanchong.
Apparently, however, the arrangement was by no means temporary, as the two lived in the cave for 54 years. After their story went viral, there were many attempts to offer him a house as a gift, without ever succeeding as the two have always refused, satisfied with their living conditions.
The refusal is not surprising given that Liang and Li have spent their lives transforming the cave into a welcoming place, organized in three bedrooms, living room, kitchen and a garden, where they grow vegetables.
A well provides water and the cave has also been equipped with electricity. What used to be a cold cave has been transformed into a cozy home where the couple continue to live happily. So long live Liang and Li and their original home!
