People who collect objects or works of art are often willing to spend incredible sums in order to grab the last missing piece of their collection. There are many objects collected: stamps, paintings and even video games.
Despite having been born relatively recently, some videogames released between the 1980s and 1990s are now practically unavailable.
So, as soon as Heritage Auction put a lot of vintage games up for sale, the auction went beyond all expectations.
Initially, the auction forecast for the entire lot was $ 500,000, but this figure was largely exceeded, thanks above all to a specific sale. An unknown buyer has in fact won a still-sealed copy of Super Mario Bros from 1985 , for Nintendo's NES console, at a very substantial amount.
Starting from an auction base of 100 dollars, the figure has soared to reach 114,000 dollars (almost 100,000 euros). With this record sale, the entire lot reached a total of $ 700,000, not bad for some old video game!
