Certain images are so fixed and imprinted on everyone's mind that it is not difficult to mistake them for something that closely resembles them. Think for example of the iconography of Jesus Christ : the representations of the Christian Messiah are all quite similar and recurrent. A young man with a beard and long hair often leaves no room for doubt.
With this certainty, Ryan, the American boy from Utah we're about to tell you about, has decided to play a joke on his parents for Christmas. The father and mother are particularly religious , and for this reason a beautiful portrait of Jesus seemed an appropriate gift. Everything ok so far, except that Ryan has decided to go further, presenting his followers with a representation of a "Jesus" who in reality was not so divine ...
Fans of the Star Wars sci-fi saga - but probably many other people as well - would never have been fooled by Ryan's joke. Other than Jesus: the painting he gave to his parents on Christmas Day depicted Ewan McGregor as the legendary Obi-Wan Kenobi , the Jedi knight and mentor of Luke Skywalker.
He is undoubtedly one of the most famous characters in Star Wars , who according to Ryan also resembles - and a lot - the traditional portraits of the Christ. So, thanking him for the painting, the young man's mother immediately hung the object on display , obviously unaware that she was facing a science fiction character. A moment that, for Ryan, must have been particularly awaited and fun , so much so that he filmed everything and then shared it on Youtube, where the video collected thousands of reactions.
Growing up in a home with loads of religious icons and two very devoted parents, Ryan thought that was the perfect joke. Almost by chance, according to what he said, he noticed the similarity of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan to traditional images of the Messiah. It would have been very funny, like this, to see him on display on the walls of the house treated as if he were a divine figure.
And from the video it seems that, at first, the two notice something strange in the Jesus that the son gave him, even if they are convinced that it is really him, thanking him happily. Ryan's guilty smile, however, speaks volumes about the truth ... We don't know if and when they'll find out; certainly this guy managed to entertain many people with his ironic and a little irreverent gimmick !
