Years ago, the creatives of the i-beam design studio began to reflect on the possibility of reusing pallets in a more elaborate and professional way than the forms of recycling we are used to.
They have thus created the basic project of a home equipped with all comforts and above all achievable within a day.
The encouraging fact from which they started is that 84% of the world's refugees could build a small house like this just using the pallets found in the United States.
The first project was born to give temporary shelter to refugees returning to Kosovo
But then we realized the enormous potential of a house so cheap and quick to build
The basic structure is extremely flexible and adaptable to the needs of those who live there
Pallets are a very easy asset to find, and their shape makes them easy to handle even by inexperienced hands
They can be combined with other materials (metal, plastic or fabric) for full coverage
The studio offers an "IKEA style" assembly kit with a contribution of $ 75: instructions, floor plans, explanatory videos and various images
In this way it will not be necessary to have complex carpentry or architecture skills to have your own wooden house
The basic skeleton is buildable in a single day
In addition to being an emergency home, this property can become a fabulous country house or home for children
