Girl Was Bullied For Her Incredibly Dark Skin, Now She Became A Model And Internet Sensation
With internet trolls lurking on every corner, getting your pictures posted online can become a disaster for your self-esteem. But for Khoudia Diop, an incredibly dark-skinned 19-year-old Senegalese model, it actually worked the other way around.
The Paris-based model calls herself “Melanin Goddess” and she’s blowing up the internet with her pictures that could almost seem retouched because of her amazingly rich skin tone.
“I was teased a lot growing up, because of my skin tone,” Khoudia told Daily Mail. “And now even online sometimes, people will make comments. Growing up, I faced it by confronting the bullies. As I grew, I learned to love myself more every day, and not pay attention to the negative people.”
Khoudia started modeling when she was 17, and now she already has over 235,000 followers on Instagram. To make the most of her situation, she’s spreading the message to embrace the different, saying “If you’re lucky enough to be different, don’t ever change.“
