A man set himself on fire and took a walk on the lawn that runs alongside the White House in Washington. It happened yesterday, Wednesday 29 May, and the video was released only today. The man continued to walk on the lawn that runs alongside the White House, a tourist area frequented by thousands of tourists every day until security guards intervened to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher.
In the film shot at Ellipse Paek, we see the man walking on the lawn with his hands raised. The intervention with the fire extinguisher prevented the man from making a horrible death.
The wounds he sustained are still very serious, given that he has 85 percent of his body burn. The motive of the gesture is unknown; but the man is seriously in danger of life and an investigation has been started on the matter.
At the scene of the incident, more than 70 agents of the various bodies, including officers of the US secret services, arrived within minutes. At the time of the incident, around 12 am local time, US President Donald Trump was in the presidential residence for a scheduled visit and for this the security protocol was triggered.
