Elder has for years prayed a statue of the Lord of the Rings, believing it to be Saint Anthony.
The news comes from Brazil, a land where religion is particularly felt and lived. Here an old lady for years prayed by mistake for a statuette of Elrond, elf in the saga of the Lord of the Rings, convinced that it was a statuette of Saint Anthony.
The discovery was made by the daughter-in-law of her daughter, Gabriela Brandão, who one day noticed how that little statue did not seem to resemble very much how Saint Anthony was portrayed elsewhere.
To confirm the doubt, the woman did some research on the internet, managing to find an exact copy of the statuette on an e-commerce site, described as Elrond of the Lord of the Rings, the elf interpreted in the films by Hugo Weaving.
At that point, however, the difficult part was explaining the error to the old woman. At the first attempt, the relatives failed to make the woman understand what the problem was, but on the following day, showing her a real statue of St. Anthony, the misunderstanding was finally solved.
