«Top Chef» alum Fatima Ali revealed her cancer has returned «with a vengeance».
In an emotional essay published to Bon Appetit Tuesday, Ali, 29, says doctors determined her diagnosis was untreatable and terminal.
«My oncologist has told me that I have a year to live, with or without the new chemotherapy regimen,» she writes. «I was looking forward to being 30, flirty, and thriving. Guess I have to step it
up on the flirting. I have no time to lose».
However, doctors informed the television personality in September that the cancer cells they thought were gone had spread to her left hip and femur bone. She adds that she suspects «I won’t last
«They think I’m brave, but really, I’m not. I’m scared,» Ali writes.

Although Ali had to set aside her dream of owning an eatery, the chef plans to spend the time she has left immersed in the finest foods in world-renowned restaurants, including two-Michelin-star
Noma in Denmark and Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare.
